Welcome to Cagaran Cats
We are Heather and Richard McRae, and we breed pedigree Tiffanies and Asian Shorthairs in Central Scotland. Our breeding prefix, Cagaran, is registered with the UK GCCF (Governing Council of the Cat Fancy). We live on the edge of a village just outside the town of Falkirk, which is in the middle of the triangle between Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling. You can find out more about us on the 'About Us' page.
We have three boys and seven girls plus two kittens whom we are running on, two boys and a girl for our cinnamon programme, and three neuters, making eighteen in all. We take them to shows across the length and breadth of the UK and are the very proud owners of Champion & UK & Imperial Grand Premier, Rushbrooke Kahlua Over Ice, known as 'Annas' at home, who was the first ever Tiffanie to hold either the UK or Imperial titles (and therefore obviously the first to hold both!). At the Ulster show in 2011, she also became the first Tiffanie to win an Olympian certificate. In addition, our foundation queen, Imperial Grand Champion & Grand Premier Dayjoy Orla, known as Dàrna at home, was only the sixth Tiffanie to hold the Imperial title and her son, our first home-bred boy, Imperial Grand Champion Cagaran Deathach-Donn, was the first Asian Smoke to become an Imperial.
We had a litter born on the 22nd of February and have another two litters due this month, so keep an eye on the 'Kittens Available' page for more details.
Please feel free to browse around our site, and get in touch if you have any questions. You are welcome to come and meet our cats, whether or not you are interested in a kitten from us. Visitors are especially welcomed when we have kittens, because meeting new people helps to develop them into sociable and friendly pets, so you would be doing us a favour by helping to socialise them!
Incidentally, in case you're wondering, the photo below is real, and was taken whilst the cats were having their dinner one day back in 2009. This was how they ate every meal: each knew which bowl was theirs, and would look at us very strangely if we put the wrong bowl in their space. The cats are, from left to right: Ali, Tármus, Monty, Breckin, Kia, Xaria, Coimhlion, Amlach, Dàrna, Katie, Annas, Jinny and Call.
